1st Choice Therapy Announcement

January 1, 2012

1st Choice Physical Therapy, Bexley, OH, is proud to announce a formal partnership between Jonathan Hartstein, PT and Jessica Iams, PT, DPT.

Dr. Iams has been a physical therapist practitioner for over 10 years. She is highly trained and familiar with all aspects of physical therapy. She is a student of her profession. Dr. Iams' expertise is in Vestibular Rehabilitation (treating balance and vertigo issues), sports, recreational and workplace injuries.

When she started her physical therapy career, Dr. Iams always had several personal and professional goals in mind: First, treat patients with the utmost respect, care and dignity. Second, never compromise on her core beliefs or ethical standards. Third, earn her doctorate of physical therapy. Fourth, find someone who shares her beliefs so that one day she could own a practice.

"To date, I've been blessed with accomplishing all of my short-term goals," says Dr. Iams. "However, I never want to stop learning or keeping up-to-date with new techniques, technologies or procedures. Most importantly, I want to get my patients back to their normal activities as soon as possible - that is, and always will be, priority one."

"Jonathan and I have been working together for the past seven years. Now that we are officially partners, I look forward to immersing myself fully in the day-to-day aspects of owning a business and working hard to increase our patient base, enhancing our name recognition, identifying areas of opportunity and strengthening our brand image within the medical-legal community."

"Jessica has always conducted herself as more than 'just an employee'," states Jonathan Hartstein, managing partner. "Over the years, Jessica has added great value to 1st Choice Physical Therapy as demonstrated by her professionalism. She is intelligent, knowledgeable, a very caring and compassionate person. She is a hard-worker with inexhaustible energy, results-driven and a perfectionist by nature. I'm more of a 'big picture' thinker, while she is detail oriented. This allows us to complement each other and I look forward to greater success in the years ahead."

From the minute each patient walks through the door, the professionals at 1st Choice Physical Therapy strive to make sure they have a positive experience and receive the proper treatment. "Positive outcomes will contribute greatly to our success and is paramount to our growth and brand," state Hartstein and Iams. Most people have a family physician, a family lawyer, and a family dentist. 1st Choice Physical Therapy wants to be your family's physical therapist. Our overarching goal is get each patient back to his or her normal activity as soon as possible. In doing so, we hope 1st Choice Physical Therapy becomes an integral part of our patients' overall health care team.

As one of their future initiatives, Hartstein and Iams will concentrate on growing the business in areas such as, Occupational Health, Ergonomic Job Analysis and Workplace Assessment, Fall Risk Screening and Injury Prevention. "There is a certain percentage of workplace accidents and injuries that can be prevented," says Dr. Iams. "Prevention is one of the keys to maintaining health and wellness. If we can minimize accidents and injuries at the workplace through education and clinics, then we can keep people working and employers happy. That is a great service!"

Dr. Iams received her DPT (Doctorate of Physical Therapy) from Alabama State University, her MS from Walsh University and her BA from Ohio University. She is a local resident and very active in the community and her church.
